The Aotearoa Anarchist Network was born out of the Anarchism is Organising Conference in mid 2007. It is an attempt to facilitate mutual aid, skill-sharing, cooperation and dialogue between anarchist groups with common aims. Hopefully it will strengthen ties between various centres and decrease the isolation of those without the support of a larger anarchist community.
At present the network consists primarily of the anarchism.net.nz website and a regular email update/events list. The website aims to be a point of first contact for Anarchism and Anarchists in Aotearoa, providing resources and contact information for Anarchist projects and groups. The email list is open to any person to subscribe to. Any form of censorship or decision to exclude something submitted from the contents of the email updates/events list will be documented and reasons for its exclusion given to the party who made the submission.
The upkeep of the Aotearoa Anarchist network, including any necessary decisions relating to running is undertaken by organised anarchist collectives. Currently these are the Wellington Wildcat Collective and the Auckland Anarchist Collective. Other collectives are welcome to become involved in the running of the Network.
The running of the network can be challenged/appraised/reorganised/destroyed at the next anarchist conference.
